Biography

Michael C. Holy’s law practice focuses on civil litigation, including trials and appeals in state and federal court. He has over 22 years of experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including medical and nursing home malpractice, employment law, general liability, and commercial litigation. Mr. Holy’s clients benefit from his background as a shareholder at a large Chicago defense litigation law firm. Mr. Holy is admitted to the federal trial bar, as well as the state of Illinois. Mr. Holy has been involved in appeals before Illinois appellate courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Holy has represented clients before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, as well as the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. 

Mr. Holy’s representation has resulted in successful resolution of client matters through mediation, pre-trial settlement conference, trial, and, if necessary, appeal. Mr. Holy has extensive experience defending high exposure death and significant injury matters. Both Mr. Holy’s peers and the judiciary recognize his talents. For the past sixteen years, Mr. Holy has earned an AV rating by his peers and the judiciary, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating for ethics and legal ability.  

Mr. Holy regularly practices in State and Federal Court in Chicago and the surrounding Illinois court venues, including Cook, DuPage, Will, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Winnebago, Kankakee, LaSalle, and Grundy. Mr. Holy is a frequent speaker in his areas of practice, presenting to attorney and client organizations.

 Mr. Holy majored in Political Science, with minors in Business Administration and History from Northern Illinois University (B.S. ,cum laude). Mr. Holy graduated from Marquette University Law School (J.D.) where he won the intramural Moot Court competition, was later named President of the Moot Court Board, and was a Member of the Marquette University Law Review.
